BN National Trail

Biodiesel, a plant that is designed to scale to a 50 million gallon facility without interruption of production.

The project is a shovel-ready site located in an enterprise zone in Newton, IL near the second largest transportation corridor in the U.S.  The initial investment is $12 million USD in phase one. To bring the project to full completion the total investment cost of the project is $29 million USD over a two year development period.

The project was originally formed as an agriculture coalition of five southern Illinois counties in 2001.  During the past eight years, several feasibility studies and due diligence have been completed on the part of equity firms, government agencies, and private investors. The business, under ownership of Blue Northern NT Holdings LLC, is designed to maximize the use of innovation in the bio fuels industry as well as a better understanding of how to profitably manage a biodiesel production facility.
