Operations Technician

Position is responsible for key functions of operating a biodiesel facility.  Work centers on the calculation, measuring, loading, and mixing of crude or refined feedstock with additives in reaction process vessels and monitoring of the entire operations and production process. Operations Technician will perform various standard operating procedures to ensure accurate, safe, efficient, and quality operation of process and assist with the monitoring and record keeping of key support efforts, including maintenance, repairs, and safety inspections.  Position requires an associate degree in mechanical or technical field plus 0-2 years of experience in an industrial or mechanical area. Position reports to a Shift Supervisor (Hourly).


Shift Supervisor

Position is responsible for key functions of operating a biodiesel facility through supervision of a team of operations technicians and material handlers.  Work centers on participating, or oversight of, the calculation, measuring, loading, and mixing of crude or refined feedstock with additives in reaction process vessels and monitoring of the entire operations and production process, including material movement. Shift Supervisor will managed or perform various standard operating procedures to ensure accurate, safe, efficient, and quality operation of process and assist with the monitoring and record keeping of key support efforts, including maintenance, repairs, and safety inspections.  Position requires an associate or bachelor degree in mechanical or technical field plus 2-5 years of experience in industrial or mechanical field. Position reports to the Operations Manager (Salary).


Operation Manager

Position is responsible for key management functions of the running a biodiesel process operation.  Scope of position centers on overall management of key production activities and reporting including the calculation, measuring, loading, and mixing of crude or refined feedstock with additives in reaction process vessels and monitoring of the entire operations and production process. Operations Manager will be responsible for developing and managing various standard operating procedures to ensure accurate, safe, efficient, and quality operation of process and assist with the monitoring and record keeping of key support efforts, including maintenance, repairs, and safety inspections.  Operations Manager will also perform key personnel functions in role including handling day to day scheduling and issues, in addition to ensuring proper employee performance measurement and conducting of appraisals.  Operations Manager will have direct oversight of shift supervisors, operations technicians, and material handlers and in meeting pre-set plant operational objectives.  Position requires bachelor degree in engineering, business, or technical-related field plus 5+ years of related experience, preferably in a biofuels or biodiesel facility.  Position reports to the Plant Manager (Salary).


Material Handler

Position is responsible for all material movement within biodiesel facility, including areas associated with loading and unloading of trucks, tankers, and railcars, and also in areas of staging, processing, and warehousing.  Materials Handler will also be responsible for maintaining and reconciling material inventory system of the biodiesel facility, including raw feedstock, WIP materials, finished biodiesel, raw materials, supplies, and all shipping and storage materials. Position requires HS diploma plus 2 year experience in material handling and movement.  Position reports to a Shift Supervisor (Hourly).


QC/QA Chemist

Position is responsible for overall leadership and management of a biodiesel analytical laboratory, including all quality assurance and quality control functions.  Key functions revolve around testing and release of all incoming raw materials and finished biodiesel oils.  Daily responsibilities incorporate areas as related to analyzing organic or inorganic compounds to determine chemical or physical properties, composition (including fatty acid methyl ester analysis), structure, relationships, or reactions, using chromatography, spectroscopy, or spectrophotometry techniques, maintaining laboratory instruments to ensure proper working order and troubleshoot malfunctions when needed, and developing, improving, or customizing products, equipment, formulas, processes, or analytical methods.  Chemist will also oversee quality control testing and assessment of results, along with supervising support staff.  The ability to confer with engineers or operational staff for analytical interpretation is required, in addition to providing updated technical communication.  Position requires a bachelor or master degree in Chemistry, along with 4-6 years of experience in an industrial or processing laboratory.  Position reports to Plant Manager (Salary).


QC Lab Technician

Position is responsible for daily operation of a biodiesel analytical laboratory in support of plant processing.  Direct functions include the monitoring of product quality to ensure compliance with standards and specifications, compiling and interpretation of tests and analyses, set-up and running of chemical tests and experiments.  Preparation of chemical solutions for products or processes, maintaining of clean or sterilized laboratory instruments or equipment, writing of technical reports or documentation, and providing technical support to engineers or chemists is required.  Other laboratory duties will be required as related to safety and maintaining supplies.  Position requires a bachelor degree in chemistry or analytical field plus 0-2 years of experience in an analytical laboratory.  Positions reports to QC/QA Chemist (Salary).


Planning & Logistics Manager

Position is responsible for all planning and scheduling of material movement and logistics as related to incoming and outbound shipments of raw materials, supplies, and finished biodiesel oils.  Key oversight and control of these supply chain processes will be required on a daily basis.  Monitoring of the transportation and storage of flammable or potentially dangerous feed stocks or products to adhere to safety guidelines is also a requirement.  Position also maintains oversight and management of an ERP system.  Position requires a bachelor degree in logistics, business, or associated field plus 5-7+ years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment (biofuels or biodiesel preferred).  Position reports to Plant Manager (Salary).


Mechanic

Position is responsible for all activities of maintaining and repairing biodiesel equipment in the processing plant.  Key functions will consist of the re-assembly of machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work, starting of machines and observance of mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems, inspection or testing of damaged machine parts, and mark defective areas or advise supervisors of repair needs, and lubricating or application of adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified procedures.  In addition, installation or change of machine parts and attachments, dismantling of machines or removal of parts for repair, using chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists is required.  Assistance in the preventative maintenance program and record management system will be of paramount importance.  Position requires an associate degree in a mechanical or technical field, plus 3-5 years of associated work experience is required.  Certifications preferred. Specialty experience with reactors, centrifuges, and various types of pumps preferred. Position reports to Mechanical Engineer (Hourly). 


E & I Technician

Position is responsible for all aspects of maintaining proper working electrical, electronic, and instrumentation devices at biodiesel facility, including repair, maintenance, and calibration.  The ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, or engineering instructions for assembling electronics units, applying knowledge of electronic theory and components is required.  Must be able to test electronics units, using standard test equipment, and analyze results to evaluate performance and determine need for adjustment and to perform preventative maintenance or calibration of equipment or systems.  Position must be able to assemble, test, or maintain circuitry or electronic components, according to engineering instructions, technical manuals, or knowledge of electronics, using hand or power tools and adjust or replace defective or improperly functioning circuitry or electronics components. In addition, the ability to write reports or record data on testing techniques, laboratory equipment, or specifications to assist engineers and identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working with manufacturers or field representatives as necessary to procure replacement parts is necessary. Position requires an associate degree in an electrical, electronic, or instrumentation related concentration plus 3-5 years of related experience.  Certifications preferred.  Position reports to Mechanical Engineer.


ERP Analyst

Position is responsible for daily update and maintenance of an ERP software system for all biodiesel plant activities including procurement of materials, material movement, warehousing, operation scheduling, and transportation.  Position requires a bachelor degree in associated business or computer science (ERP concentration) plus 0-2 years of experience. Position reports to Planning & Logistics Manager (Salary).

 
Chemical Engineer

Position is responsible for key chemical functions of operating and developing the biodiesel facility processes.  The scope of the position centers on overall technical management of key engineering-related activities as related to the calculation, measuring, loading, and mixing of crude or refined feedstock with additives in reaction process vessels and monitoring of the entire operation.  The Chemical Engineer will lead or assist the Operations Manager in developing various standard operating procedures to ensure accurate, safe, efficient, and quality operation of process.  Chemical Engineer will support monitoring and troubleshooting of all bio-refinery processes and provide leadership in overall evaluation and change for biodiesel manufacturing improvement.  Both process and project engineering tasks will be required.  Chemical Engineer will also be required to provide on-site, in-process technical training and support to all operational staff.  Safety will be of paramount importance to the operation and Chemical Engineer will be charged with ongoing evaluation of process chemical reaction steps and the overall safety and compliance of the staff and equipment. Position requires a bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering plus 0-2 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.  Position reports to Plant Manager (Salary).


Mechanical Engineer

Position is responsible for all mechanical related tasks which encompass the biodiesel facility and process.  The ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and computer generated reports, assist drafters in developing or altering structural design, along with research of design and operation of mechanical systems in an effort to ensure that finished biodiesel oil product meets all requirements is necessary.   Position will also require the ability to confer with engineers or other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical information.  Leading and providing assistance to maintenance and mechanic personnel is of paramount importance, along with developing test models of alternate mechanical designs, including fabrication.  Position is also responsible in specifying system components and modifications to ensure conformance with engineering design and specifications.  Position requires a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering plus 4-6 years of industrial or manufacturing experience.  Position reports to Plant Manager (Salary).
